Comply-Ease

Are you following all your bar rules regarding the Safekeeping of Property for your trust account?

In addition to making sure your IOLTA is accurate, did you know there are other rules regarding how long and what documents you need to store? Rule 1.15 of your bar association goes into detail as to what things you need to save and how often three-way reconciliations must be performed. Some states require front and back copies of checks, some states require you to save bank statements for 5 years (and you can’t always get those online that far back).  Click on your state below to download a checklist of your bar rules regarding how your state requires you to handle the IOLTA account documentation.
